RAB RACING AND JOHN WES TOWNLEY- “RACING” FOR THE RED CROSS IN NASHVILLE

Concord, NC (6-3-09) – As the NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to Nashville Superspeedway this weekend for the Federated Auto Parts 300, many of the residents of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and surrounding areas are still feeling the effects of a tornado that touched down during the April 2009 race weekend.

Nationwide Insurance along with NASCAR and the Nashville Superspeedway have teamed up to support the local American Red Cross Nashville Chapter. RAB Racing and John Wes Townley, driver of the No. 09 Zaxby’s Ford Fusion, are stepping up to support future disaster relief efforts by announcing a personal challenge.

Along with collecting donations through the RAB Racing team, Co-Owner and General Manager, Robby Benton and driver, John Wes Townley have agreed to donate a portion of the teams winnings following the Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway to the Nashville Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.

“We were at the track on the day the tornadoes touched down in Murfreesboro and witnessed firsthand the destruction inflicted on the area,” stated Robby Benton Co-Owner and General Manager of RAB Racing. “The Red Cross is a premiere emergency response organization and does so much for victims of disaster. This hit home in the NASCAR community and we wanted to do our part to help those in need following a disaster.”

In honor of the Red Cross, their logo will be displayed on the rear quarter panel of the No. 09 Zaxby’s Ford Fusion this weekend.
